The PTI is trying hard to gain simple majority by wooing smaller parties and independents.

Despite PTI having emerged as the single largest party in the National Assembly in the recently concluded general elections in Pakistan, it is still short of numbers to form its government unless being supported by other parties and independents.

Imran Khan – former cricketer, philanthropist and current chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party – at the conclusion of the vote count on 28 July had won a total of 115 of the 270 seats contested. He has also become the first politician in the history of Pakistan to have contested from five seats and winning on all.

The main opposition parties have alleged rigging and military's interference in the general elections to favour Imran Khan. But, the Election Commission of Pakistan has rejected allegations of rigging. However, Nawaz Sharif and his PML-N have now conceded Pakistan elections to Imran Khan who has promised his people that he would rebuild Pakistan based on the ideology of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of the nation.
