Imran Khan former cricketer, philanthropist and current chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party at the conclusion of the vote count on 28 July had won a total of 115 of the 270 seats contested. He has also become the first politician in the history of Pakistan to have contested from five seats and winning on all.
The main opposition parties have alleged rigging and military's interference in the general elections to favour Imran Khan. But, the Election Commission of Pakistan has rejected allegations of rigging. However, Nawaz Sharif and his PML-N have now conceded Pakistan elections to Imran Khan who has promised his people that he would rebuild Pakistan based on the ideology of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of the nation.
